Join us for our summer session on June 24, 2019!
Summer Session (June 24 – 28, 2019)
This year’s summer session will focus on traditional Balinese music performed on the Balinese gamelan angklung, a four-toned bronze instrument set that looks similar to the gong kebyar we play on during the year, but who’s tuning differs quite a bit by being in “slendro” instead of “pelog”. The music and instruments are quite stunning and this week-long exploration of the gamelan angklung repertoire will be great for new members and returning members alike.
