Winter Session (Jan. 15 – Mar. 18, 2020)

Join us as we continue to celebrate our 4th season and sign up for the winter session today! Our winter session starts January 15 and ends on March 18, 2020. It will be immediately followed by the start of our spring session on March 25, 2020, which you can also sign up for below.

Spring Session (Mar. 25 – Jun. 3, 2020)

Our spring session starts March 25 and ends on June 3, 2020. We will perform in early May 2020 at MIT with MIT’s professional gamelan ensemble – Gamelan Galak Tika – as well as an end of year concert on Saturday June 6, 2020. Dates/Times and additional information TBA and posted on this space by mid-February.

Who can join?
This group is open to children in grades 2 – 12. We are an inclusive and welcoming community. No prior musical experience is necessary and beginners are encouraged to join and try something new!


Where do the rehearsals take place?
All of our rehearsals take place in the Endicott World Music Room at MIT (N52-199), which is on the first floor of MIT Building N52 at 265 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA. For reference, the entrance to this building is two doors to the right of the main entrance to the MIT Museum. Performances will take place at other locations as indicated.


How much will this cost?

Session costs vary throughout the year. Each class is $10.
There is an added variable Eventbrite processing fee added to the registration fee per session.


Is financial aid available?
Yes! Part of are goal as a community ensemble is to make sure our program is accessible and affordable to all families regardless of income. To apply for financial aid or to learn more, email cambridgeyouthgamelan@gmail.com


How do I join?
Registration information for the fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions is typically announced several months in advance so you are able to plan your child’s after school commitments as early as possible. You will always receive an email from us with information on how to register but you can always check back here regularly to find out information about upcoming rehearsals, performances, and workshops.
