This three-day gamelan intensive is an excellent introduction into Balinese gamelan music and culture for students in Grades 3 – 9. Classes will focus on technique on a variety of instruments and will instruction will be varied based on experience. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your skills if you have already been playing this year, or to get a taste of what it’s like to play in a Balinese gamelan ensemble!

Who can join?
This group is open to children in grades 3 – 9. No prior musical experience necessary. Beginners are encouraged to join and try something new! 🙂

Where do the rehearsals take place?
All of our rehearsals take place in the Endicott World Music Room at MIT (N52-199), which is on the first floor of the MIT Museum Building at 265 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA. Performances will take place at other locations as indicated.

How much will this cost?

The cost for the Spring 2016 session is $90.00 for 9 sessions.

There is an added Eventbrite processing fee of $3-5 added per session.

No refunds for the spring session will be accepted after March 15, 2017.
